visitlasvegas.com

visitlasvegas.com is a fairly easy site to navigate. I felt that I could find anything I thought of in regards to a trip in a quick and easy fashion. I think this site comes off as professional, which is extremely important. When planning a trip a lot of purchases are made prior to the visit, and you want to go through a site that appears clean and trustworthy.

When I was searching for things to do in Vegas before my trip, I was often directed to visitlasvegas.com. I think this website gave me a good idea of what to expect out of Vegas. I like how you can search for events that are happening during your stay. The search engine for the dinning is excellent. This section helped us in deciding to go to the Treasure Island buffet on one of our large group outings.

I think that this site would be more useful to me the next time I go when I am not planning for 60 people's needs and restrictions. I could pick the casino based on my specific needs and desires. Affordability was a huge priority for me, since I didn't want any of my guests to feel left out because they didn't have enough money. It would have been helpful if I was able to search the attractions based on price. In the future I think my vacation budget will be a little more flexible, since I won't have to worry about others as much.

Planning

I like to plan my vacations plenty of time in advance so I don't forget anything major. Also, it makes it easier to make adjustments to plans if anything exciting or conflicting comes up.

The planning for this Vegas trip was all on my shoulders. I wanted to find lots of things to do as options, not requirements. It was important that I found a place that was affordable for all of my guests, as well as offer some entertainment.

We chose to stay at Circus Circus. Originally some of my family had planned on bringing kids, so this was the obvious choice. It turned out that no kids came, but we still enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have the options of watching circus act and going to the amusement park, as well as the normal casino stuff and swimming pools.

The Circus Circus website was fairly helpful. I went on lots of searches, googling "free stuff to do in Vegas," and "best Vegas attractions." I also shopped around for car rental deals. Additionally, I printed out lots of google maps.

To find the restaurant for our wedding dinner, I used opentable.com. It was really helpful in finding the right price, atmosphere, and accommodations. I also got club passes from freevegasclubpasses.com.

Things to take to Vegas

One thing we forgot on our trip to Vegas was our camera. Luckily, since it was our wedding everyone else brought their's. This is something that I will never forget again. There are so many amazing things to see in this town. It's not like you'll ever forget- it's just that you want to show off all of your awesome experiences.

I was thankful that I brought plenty of shoes. Everyone knows to bring comfortable shoes on vacation, but in Vegas you also need some sexy shoes. And some nice sandals. It wasn't that people people were constantly judging your looks like it is in Beverly Hills, it is just that it is nice to be dressed sexy and fancy in such a party town. It might be the only place where I felt I could act totally natural in a cocktail dress at two in the afternoon.

It was a blessing to have my husband's smart phone. With so much going on, it was really nice to be able to stay on top of things. We were able to find show times, get phone numbers for dinner reservations, and navigate our way around town.

Vegas

Last month was my first trip to Las Vegas. All I knew about it came from movies and word of mouth. I was excited to experience it for myself.

Before the trip I was in wonder. Would it live up to my expectations? I thought of Vegas as Disneyland for adults. It had all the rides, games, and swimming pools, but with an edge. But honestly, I also thought of old ladies at slot machines, fanny packs, and novelty stores.

Now that I have visited, different emotions come to mind. I am no longer in the dark, but I am still curious as to the parts I didn't get to experience in full. There was just so much to do, and, regardless of time, not enough energy to do it all in one trip. It makes me anxious to be able to go again.

I see Vegas as a true American experience. It is the historic vacation spot of the country. Other places are notable for landmarks, such as Mount Rushmore or Yellowstone. Las Vegas, however, tells the history of a true vacation destination. The city was built around making it's visitors entertained and happy.

Vacation

Here is my husband at National Dentistry Museum in Baltimore. We went on a trip to Maryland, DC, Philly, and then to an amusement park in Ohio. The other shot is him with some friends enjoying a sunny cocktail hour on one of our trips.

There are several reasons I go on vacation. All my aspirations might not coincide on the same trip, but that doesn't necessarily make one greater than the other.

Vacations are supposed to be relaxing. That is why I think of beaches, swimming pools, cocktails, and big hotel beds when the word 'vacation' comes up. Although one of the reasons I like vacationing is to experience new things and cultures, a vacation can be ruined by too much planning and scheduling. I think that a trip should be limited as to how much scheduled.

I also like thrills and entertainment on my vacations. Let's face it, relaxation can get boring. Like I mentioned earlier, I love a good roller coaster. I also want to do the things that I rarely get to do in my day to day life, such as see a comedian or go jet skiing.

If a vacation is planned out right with plenty of free time along with some ideas of stuff to do, they can be absolutely heavenly. When I am on vacation I feel relief. I feel that it is so important to my well-being that I am allowed to take a break from life. Research will back me up on this; vacations help keep you healthy.

Brand

I'm not much of a brand follower. I'm not really into fashion, or much of anything else that would inspire much of a brand following. I am, however, very selective when it comes to the foods I buy.

The two criteria I look for in a food are organics and local products. Bob's Red Mill is a company in one of Portland's neighboring towns, Milwaukie. Their primary products are natural and organic milled grains. Recently the owner of the company decided to retire, and handed the business over to the employees via employee stock plans.

I like this brand because it is honest and pure. I can visit the facility where it is produced and see the workers. I can visit the fields where the grains are harvested. I can shake hands with those who feed me. The products they produce are simple, wholesome, and nourishing.

I could just buy cheaper flour from a bag in the baking isle, but I have no idea where it came from, what was sprayed on it, and how the people who produced it were treated.

Websites

If I only could access three websites, I think it would be your pretty basic list. First I would save facebook, so I could stay connected with my friends and family. I would also choose NPR.org for staying current and access to fascinating stories. Lastly, I would select Hulu.com to keep me entertained.
