Vegas

Last month was my first trip to Las Vegas. All I knew about it came from movies and word of mouth. I was excited to experience it for myself.

Before the trip I was in wonder. Would it live up to my expectations? I thought of Vegas as Disneyland for adults. It had all the rides, games, and swimming pools, but with an edge. But honestly, I also thought of old ladies at slot machines, fanny packs, and novelty stores.

Now that I have visited, different emotions come to mind. I am no longer in the dark, but I am still curious as to the parts I didn't get to experience in full. There was just so much to do, and, regardless of time, not enough energy to do it all in one trip. It makes me anxious to be able to go again.

I see Vegas as a true American experience. It is the historic vacation spot of the country. Other places are notable for landmarks, such as Mount Rushmore or Yellowstone. Las Vegas, however, tells the history of a true vacation destination. The city was built around making it's visitors entertained and happy.
